Pet Parade and Faire!

I went to the Howl‘oween Pet Parade & Faire last weekend! Pet parade = doggies + cute outfits <3

I missed the parade, but it was still good looking at the animals adorned in their costumes. The animals at the parade were mainly dogs, which came in all sizes and characters, but I also saw a spider(!!!) and a tortoise.

We spent about an hour there for my ‘fix’, and I felt happy the whole day after that!

Crepes and impulse buying

We went to eat crepes recently. They are very similar to pancakes, except that they very thin. Crepes come in generally two flavors, savory and sweet. Having a sweet tooth, I always order sweet crepe. Why am I talking about crepes? Coz, it was so delicious and pretty! Feel like posting a photo of it.

I love to walk around Dollar Tree store. It has many interesting stuffs. Although I do not really need some of the stuffs I bought from there, but impulse buying at Dollar Tree is …acceptable… ? Since the goods sold are only $1 each!

A very beautiful pet bed! When I saw it, I was skeptical that it was only $1. However, it should be cheap, since it is sold in Dollar Tree. I was wondering if I should get it. Then, being rational, I continued perusing others stuffs in the shop since I do not own a pet. However, I kept thinking about the pet bed.

In the end, I can’t resist the pet bed and got it. While queueing to ask the cashier the price of the bed, I was wondering what is the maximum price I should pay for the bed (since I do not have a pet). It is only $1!!!

San Mateo County Fair

Was just like PESTA PD! Miss those pesta-s. Watched my first circus there.

Dinner before going to the fair. Yummy! Ate at a place called Kobeya. Nothing fancy and the food is not pricey.

We bought tickets to watch a concert in the fair. I did not rally pay attention to who are performing that night, since I would think that the performers wouldn’t really be popular? We reached at the fair about 1.5 hrs before the concert, so that we would have some time to walk around the fair. I was sooo surprised to see quite a long line formed towards the concert entrance. Wow, this better be good. I looked at my GOLD VIP CIRCLE pass.

“Village People and KC & the Sunshine Band”. Hmm… nvr heard of them (Well, that’s not surprising since I do not even follow the current entertainment news)

The pig is REALLY greedy. I could not get his attention. We actually missed the pig race event! Cute chicks!

We should have gone to the fair earlier! Since we did not expect a long queue to the concert, we were not able to walk around the fair before the concert, and the concert eneded at about 10-ish p.m. A lot of booths were closed at that time. Oh well, can go again next year!

The Dish … and lions

Planned to get some exercise at the Stanford Dish area to get some fresh air and enjoy the greeneries. The dish (radiotelescope) is on a hill, and ppl jog/hike and get some exercise around the area….

That was the original plan until we saw this sign.

It seems like the lions are tame? Since I did not see any warning
sign about the danger of the lions, or signs which says you are entering at your own risk.
I guess the lions are comfortable with humans presence.

 

Hmm….thinking very very hard if we should enter….We are talking about LIONS here! I am terrified of stray dogs, much more so lions! Did not bring any protection to ward off/overpower lions … No stick, pepper spray nor martial arts to ward off/ fight back an attacking lion…. So in the end, I just went in about 5 meters in the area to take a pic with the dish signboard. Maybe if we came in a bigger group of people, I will be less fearful.

San Mateo Kennel Club Dog Show

Went to San Mateo Kennel Club Dog Show which took place at Fiesta Hall, San Mateo Event Center. So many dogs! Various sizes and breeds. Usually the dogs of the same breed will compete for one title.

HUGE dogs. Resting time.	ELEGANT dogs. Show your stuff!

Each of the dogs are checked. (To check if the dogs are healthy? Their mouth/teeth, ears were scrutinized). The dogs were aslo tested for obedience.  I was impressed by how obedient most of the dogs were. Not only that, I did not hear dog barkings, amidst so many dogs being near to each other. If in my kampung, my best bet is that the dogs will try to tear off each other.
