Happy Birthday, Baby bro!

5 11 2009

Yah, he is always my baby bro. He is the best baby bro any sister can wish for. (This is an over-generalisation :P )

But, really he is such a lovable guy!

There was once I went back for my summer holiday and I wanted to show off my culinary skill by preparing pasta for my family, from scratch. How hard can it be, right? It was a disaster! Even my dad refused to eat it! (My dad is famed for his ability to eat anything and everything).  But my bro swallowed it down. When I asked him if it was really THAT bad, his answer was no. (I tasted it myself, and I have to admit that is was really THAT bad). I was really touched by his effort to make me feel better. :)

Now, when I mention that I will prepare a meal for them on this trip, my dad will go like, “Oh, like the pasta last time? Better not waste money”. Oh, well! :)

I missed that I missed his teenage years! I didn’t see him grow up. My baby bro is a big boy now. He is way more happening and cooler than me!  (not that I am cool to begin with!) Can’t wait to see you at the end of this year!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Hope you have a great one and happy always! Miss you and love you loads! Muaks :)

So long, farewell!

2 11 2009

AIS left us and US for good for UK last Friday. The sole main reason he went there was because of his gf of course. So nice of him, right? Yah, he is always nice to tease. He will surely be be missed! Best of luck AIS whenever and wherever!

So, when is our next dinner together?

She is missed

24 10 2009

When I was younger (less that eight years old), I always  wondered about life and after-life in general. After that, I didn’t give much thought about after-life anymore as I did not get answers to my questions. At times, I will think about it when people I care about continue their journey elsewhere, and that’s it. I do not consider myself a very spiritual person, but I do believe in “what goes around comes around”  and also the existence of the Maker. I am talking about this topic because, yesterday, my parents told me an incident which proved that my grandma came to visit the family. :) How I wish I experienced that too. :) Our believe is that s/he will come back on the seventh day to visit his/her family. Some people will do things like pouring flour on the floor so that they can check if there are footsteps there. My parents didn’t do anything like that of course, but regardless, we knew she came back for a visit. :) I love you.

ephemeral

12 10 2009

Search in the web and found that ephemeral is the antonym of forever. Yep, that’s what life is. I am not delusional that I think that life is forever. Just didn’t realize that it is …f  l e e t i n g.

Heard from my mum that grandma just passed away about 3 hours ago. I quickly search high and low for this ring, which was stowed away somewhere. Was happy I found it! Feel closer to her that way. This was the present she ‘forced’ me to have, but I am glad she did. We went to the shop together and she wanted to buy me a ring. If my memory serves me right, she wanted to buy me a diamond ring. Ya, so nice rite. PD is a small town, and the shop was also quite small, so there were not too many selections. At that time, I do not really fancy this ring as I think it was old-fashioned. In the end, we got it anyway because she insisted. I have been wearing it since then until one of the diamond came off.

The good thing is that my grandma passed away peacefully. She talk like normal, and then went for her usual ’rounding’ around the neighborhood in the morning, ate like normal.  She passed away in her sleep, peacefully.

Ah ma

20 08 2009

I have been wanting to write about my grandma for some time.
Whenever I think about grandma and what a nice person she was, there was this one incident which is etched deeply in my memory.

During my kindergarden age, my parents placed me under grandma’s care while they were at work. Every morning, my dad would drive me to grandma’s house and carry me onto the bed. Usually, I was awake when he carried me into the house, but I feigned sleep as I was lazy to walk myself. Oh well …

One morning, while I was waiting for “aunty” to fetch me to my kindergarden, to my horror, I could not find my slippers! I panicked and cried. (I used to cry a lot when I was young). My grandma suggested me to wear my cousin’s slipper but I refused and kept on crying.

Did she scold me? No.

She put me on her back, and I piggy-backed her while she ran to the sundry shop to buy me slippers. I did not remember exactly if she ran, but she was going really fast, that I am sure. I still remember how little Eunice felt when she was on her grandma’s back. Feelings: suprised, awed, touched, a tinge of guilt …

————————————

Since I always cry (I do not know why) when I was young, my aunt, who stayed with my grandma at time, always felt very irritated. In her futile attempt to shut me up, she would lock herself and I in a room and give me some beatings. ( No worries, those beatings are soft and she just wanted to scare me). All the while, my grandma would be on the other side of the door, knocking on it and asking my aunt to let me go.

Best news of the day

23 04 2009

My bro got his visa…and this means that my family will make a trip to US for about 3 weeks! So excited!  :D Need to start planning!

However, I only got to know about this when I ask my bro about it…and he knew about the visa on Tuesday! How can! :P

For Memorial Day, we are planning a trip to Santa Barbara. I got this idea from YL, as she is planning a trip there too! I heart her!  :)

*hmm, all my sentence end with exclamation marks.

That was when we were younger, i.e. time when we were still playing Barbie dolls :) Oh, how I envied that she and Sam had all those Barbie gadgets, like car, stove set ( if I rememberd correctly ), a lot of shoes and clothes. They even had Barbie Ken!  However, I did not feel deprived of these Barbie gadgets as they let me play with them too..  :)   Opps, I am digressing. Back to my dedication.

She WAS bossy.
